What is body sculpting?

Body sculpting refers to different types of noninvasive laser and radiofrequency procedures that eliminate those areas of fat that won’t go away no matter how much you diet and exercise. These advanced technologies are safe, effective, and usually don’t require any downtime.

How does the SculpSure® laser work?

The SculpSure laser operates at a wavelength that’s absorbed by fat yet passes safely through the skin. When adipose tissue absorbs the laser energy, it selectively heats fat tissues until they reach a temperature that destroys the fat cells. The body then removes the remnants, which means the fat is permanently gone.

SculpSure is FDA-cleared to treat the abdomen, flanks, back, and inner and outer thighs. After one 25-minute treatment, you may lose up to 24% of the fat in the treated area.*

What is truSculpt® 3D?

TruSculpt 3D is the next generation of non-surgical fat destruction. This treatment targets difficult and stubborn areas of fat without surgery or downtime. Radio frequency energy generated by TruSculpt 3D safely heats the subcutaneous fat layer to 47°Celsius to kill fat cells. Just like with other non-surgical devices, like SculpSure and CoolSculpting, the body eliminates the dead fat cells through the endocrine system.

This entire process takes 12 weeks for the body to remove the destroyed fat cells. Full results of the 3D treatment are assessed and photographed after 12 weeks and the patient can determine if they want another treatment for further fat destruction.

The treatment involves placing the truSculpt 3D applicator on the skin. During the treatment the applicator is gently moved on the area being treated. The treatment feels like a hot stone massage during the 15 minute session. , each section is heated in 15 minute zones. TruSculpt 3D is color blind because it is not a laser, so it is safe for any skin type.

What causes cellulite?

Why do skinny people have cellulite? Why do I have cellulite and my husband does not?

Cellulite is caused by weak dermal bonds, or connective tissues in the dermis, within the skin, near very strong bonds, which are the depressions or dimples, a telltale sign of cellulite. Small pockets of fat push on either side of the dimple creating a lumpy bumpy appearance.

Men have stronger dermal bonds that are angled differently. This is why women have a harder time dealing with this issue. Dermal bonds can get stronger with the help of energy-based treatments stimulate new collagen development to tighten and strengthen dermal bonds. In some cases, losing weight can help. But for many, weight on a scale does not always with correlate with cellulite issues.

What is the Venus Legacy™?

Venus Legacy treatments delivers Radio Frequency energy to your body to stimulate collagen production. Venus’ device also delivers the healing powers of electromagnetics during treatments.

For best results, treatments occur in a series. Patients visit Revive once a week for 6 to 8 or 10 weeks, depending on patient goals. Before the first treatment begins, photos are taken to record accomplishment towards the end of the series and six weeks after the treatment concludes. Photos help create the partnership to work toward identifiable results.

Venus Legacy treatments help to tighten and smooth skin, reduce cellulite, help with body contouring, and in some cases lifting. Non-invasive treatments with no downtime, and can be done on your lunch break. After each treatment the skin may look a little pink for up to 15 minutes post each treatment and you can go back the gym right after any treatment.

Venus Legacy treatments do not prevent you from considering future treatments or surgeries to increase results even further. What is Radio Frequency?

Radio Frequency (or RF) is an energy that stimulates your body to create Collagen. Collagen is responsible for healthy, strong, and supple skin. The more collagen skin has the tighter and more youthful it becomes.

These collagen fibrils weaken and diminish over time and respond to application of outside RF energy to increase and strengthen the dermal bonds collagen contributes to achieving. As the bonds increase, the skin is tighter, smoother and younger. RF treatments can also diminish fine lines on the face and neck, or tighten skin around the knees and elbows.

Revive harnesses radio frequency to non-invasively signal the body to create stronger collagen. Revive also uses this medical technology to reduce cellulite on the thighs, buttocks, stomach and arms. A RF treatment stimulates collagen production in the body for about 12 weeks. This is why Revive recommends RF maintenance treatments once every 3-6 months depending on your skin’s condition.

Radio Frequency is not a laser and can be used on any skin type. It feels warm and relaxing and many patients associate it to feeling like they are “ironing out” wrinkles. Since RF is not a laser, skin is not photosensitive after treatment. Revive does recommend protecting skin from the sun after RF treatments and keep skin more hydrated. Tanning or burning the skin breaks down collagen and compromises your ability to achieve your beauty goals.
